Alright. Just breath. You can do this, you can do this.
You know when you pray and work your butt off, and then pray some more and then finally everything that you wanted starts to happen? All that time down on your knees and your hard work finally has been paying off? Well, I have to say that that is what has been happening these past 3 months. As most of you know, I started Kinder Keepsakes about 5 years ago. And up until 3 months ago I thought..."you are doing well. Just a small little business on the side right?" I was loving it, and true it was just a small business on the side. But it was also very tiring and overwhelming and I was kind of just doing everything "half-way." And not doing anything really well. I kept thinking, if I was able to tread water long enough, eventually it would all just work out. Unfortunately, that is not how it works. I started getting further and further behind.
But then Jenn found out that I owned a business and since she had a background in business and marketing we decided to take a leap of faith and partner together. In doing this, we were both able to work on the things we do best, therefore, making the business thrive and reach it's highest potential. Everything has just taken off exponentially and even though there is more work now, it is manageable. Because we are partners in this together. We still have a LONG way to go, but now I feel like there is a road map and we know what we need to do to get there. And there is only one way we can go...UP.
I have learned in the past three months that I have to let things go. To give responsibility over to others. Whether it be our wonderful seamstresses, or to our graphic designers, or our marketing department. We are all part of a team now and we work together to make this great company even greater!
I have realized though in doing this, that there were some things that I just was't good at in the past. But because I used to do everything MYSELF, I thought, "oh yeah, I can do that." But in truth, really...I was terrible. And our company suffered because of this. I have become a lot more humble and teachable and realizing that, yes...I may have started this company...but without all of our team members...our little company would fail.
So I would like personally give a shout out to everyone who is, has been, and who will be involved in this crazy, fun adventure with us. We truly need you and appreciate all you do! HERE is to the wonderful years a head!
