Good morning! First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who read our blog and who have supported Kinder Keepsakes over the past 5 years! It has been a wild ride with lots of ups and downs for sure. I know from past experience how hard it has been for me to run everything by myself. And I cannot tell you what a relief it is to FINALLY have a business partner who loves Kinder Keepsakes as much as I do, and is willing and ready to help it grow to it's fullest potential! I'm so excited for things to come! So thank you Jenn! You ROCK!
So, I know you are probably thinking, "come on Aly, finish your novel now..." I know, I know I like to ramble. I just wanted to give you a little bit the of the back story on how this all came to be and why I have enjoyed over the past 5 years allowing people to have the same special experience that I had on our graduation day! And I am excited and because in about 2 more years, my hubby will graduate with his PHD! So we will add one more graduation cap and gown for our 3rd little girl! The pictures I am sure will be adorable! :) So thanks again for letting me ramble. I hope you have a wonderful week! Until next week...
As you might have noticed for those of you who have been following my blog for quite some time, recently, you have seen Jenn post more and more and me less and less. With so much going on, I just haven't had the time to keep up and post as much as I would like. That being said...I still want to blog! I enjoy it and I really feel it is important that I stay on the blog :) So from now on, Jenn will be posting on the blog every week a few times a week. I will also be posting but only once a week. Thanks for understanding! I still am actively reading Jenn's posts and your comments and will be responding if needed. Growing pains in a business can be stressful but so rewarding. So thanks for being there!
Ok, now that I have rambled on and on, let's get to my blogging topic. Since it is GRAD week and everything we are doing on the blog has to do with graduation, I kind of wanted to explain where the whole Baby Graduation Caps and Gowns came from and what they are used for....
When I got pregnant with our first child, it was amazing! We were over the moon with happiness! It had taken a long time for us to become pregnant and because of that time I had decided to go back to school and get my Bachelor's degree. Well, during my (and my hubby's) last semester of college we gave birth to our little bundle of joy. She was such a good baby but it was still hard going to school and having a newborn. So when the time FINALLY came for Ryan and I to graduate it was kind of a big deal. I felt like our little baby girl had been through a lot during that last semester with us. I wanted her to be able to celebrate this joyous occasion too!! That is when I started my search for a little baby sized graduation cap and gown. Well, I could not find them anywhere!! They made them in about 3T and above. So I decided to make one.
With my Mother-in-law's help...our first ever baby cap and gown was born! I was able to walk across the stage with and receive my diploma with my little baby dressed up just like me. It was the best feeling ever! I will never forget that day. All of us together as a family, celebrating new life and great accomplishments.
I remembered how special that day was and how I loved that my four month old could be there with us in all the pictures in her little cap and gown. It just made the whole experience that much sweeter. And then a few years after that...my hubby was able to graduate with his Master's Degree and so I made two more caps and gowns for my first little girl and my second little girl! And it was as special as the first Graduation!
